Accessibility statement
Last updated 20 September 2026
Newline Software wants everyone to be able to use this website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we test against that standard as we build.
What we have done
- Contrast. All text meets at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background in both the light and dark themes. The copper accent colour is used only for decoration, never for text.
- Keyboard. Every link, button, form field and the theme toggle can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A visible focus ring is shown on every focusable element, and a “skip to content” link is the first item on each page.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to prefer reduced motion, all scroll and hover animation on the site is disabled and content appears immediately.
- Structure. Each page has one main heading, a logical heading order, and landmark regions for the header, navigation, main content and footer, so screen readers can move around the page easily. Lists are marked up as lists and the contact form has programmatically associated labels and error messages.
- Text and zoom. Text is set in relative units, has a comfortable line length, and the layout works at 400% zoom and on screens as narrow as 360 pixels without horizontal scrolling.
- Images. Photographs on this site are decorative backgrounds and are hidden from assistive technology. The logo has a text alternative.
- Themes. A light and a dark theme are provided, and the site respects your operating system preference on first visit.
Known limitations
We are not aware of any parts of the site that fail WCAG 2.2 AA. [The owner should list any known issues found in testing here, with the date they were found and when a fix is planned.]
How we test
We check the site with automated tools, with a keyboard only, at different zoom levels and screen sizes, and with the built-in screen readers on Windows and macOS. [The owner may add the date of the most recent review and any third-party audit.]
Tell us about a problem
If you find something on this site that is difficult to use, or you need any of its content in another format, email email us and tell us the page and what went wrong. We will reply within one working day and aim to fix genuine barriers promptly.
Enforcement
This is a private company website and is not subject to the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, but we treat the same standard as our target. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which handles complaints under the Equality Act 2010.
