Technical consultancy
Architecture reviews, technology selection, supplier assessment and part-time technical leadership for companies that need senior direction but not a full-time CTO or an in-house team.

What this involves
Some decisions are expensive to get wrong and hard to reverse. Which platform to build on, which supplier to trust, whether to buy or build, how to structure a system that will last ten years. Companies without a senior engineer on staff often make those decisions with only the vendor's advice to go on. We offer a second opinion from someone with nothing to sell.
Our consultancy work takes a few forms. Architecture reviews look at an existing or proposed system and report plainly on its risks and options. Technology selection compares the realistic choices for a project against your constraints. Supplier assessment reads proposals and code from other developers and tells you what you are actually getting. Each produces a short written report.
For companies that need ongoing direction we act as a part-time technical lead. That means a few days a month setting priorities, reviewing work from other developers, and sitting in on decisions where a technical voice is needed. It gives a growing company senior engineering judgement without the cost of a full-time appointment, and it can stop when it is no longer needed.
