What this involves
Most businesses start with packaged software and adapt to it. That works until the workarounds start to cost more than the licence. Spreadsheets appear beside the system, staff re-key data between screens, and the way the company actually operates drifts away from what the software allows. At that point a system written around the business, rather than the other way round, usually pays for itself.
We begin by understanding how the work flows today: who does what, in which order, and where the friction is. From that we design a system that matches the process, with the exceptions and edge cases your staff deal with every week. We build it in short cycles so you can use each part as it is finished and correct our understanding early.
The result is software that belongs to you. You hold the source code, the documentation and the accounts it runs under. It is written so that another competent developer could pick it up without us, and it is supported after release under a monthly agreement if you want one. Nothing is tied to us that does not need to be.
